Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 27, 2026
Where to Poop (the "app") is operated by BigSystems LLC ("we" or "us"). This policy explains the information the app collects, how it is used, and how to contact us.
Information We Collect
No personal name or public account is required for ordinary use. The app creates a private reviewer identifier and anonymous authentication record so contributions can remain associated with one private identity, trust levels can be calculated, and duplicate or abusive activity can be limited.
Depending on the features you use, we may process restroom ratings, amenity details, comments, listings, reports, moderation records, trust-tier activity, saved-restroom identifiers, blocked-contributor identifiers, and an optional preference to save general search areas. Administrators who use email sign-in provide an email address. If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information in your message.
Our service providers may process technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, request timestamps, device or app information, and diagnostic or security logs.
How We Use Information
We use information to show nearby restroom listings, calculate community ratings, process reports, moderate user-submitted content, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
User-Generated Content
Ratings, comments, restroom listings, and reports may be reviewed by administrators. We may remove content that includes private addresses, abusive language, spam, unsafe content, or inaccurate listing information.
Location
With your permission, the app uses your current device location to request nearby results from the mapping service and display your position on the map. BigSystems LLC does not use the community database to store a history of your live location or movement. A listing or review can include the venue's coordinates because those coordinates identify the restroom location, not a movement trail.
You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings and manually search or enter a place instead. If you opt in to saved search areas, the app may retain general places you searched for, not a precise movement trail.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores certain preferences, saved places, cached community data, blocked-contributor identifiers, and contribution history on your device. Authentication credentials and the private reviewer identifier are protected in the iOS Keychain. The "Delete local app data" control clears ordinary local app data but intentionally does not remove the Keychain identity or delete community contributions already sent to the service.
Service Providers and Sharing
We share information only as needed with providers that supply mapping, cloud hosting, authentication, database, email-delivery, security, and support functions. They may process information only to provide those functions, under their applicable agreements and privacy obligations. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the public, investigate abuse, or protect the rights and security of BigSystems LLC and others.
We do not sell personal information or use app information for cross-app tracking. If advertising or materially different data uses are introduced later, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required before using information for the new purpose.
Retention
Community contributions and the associated private reviewer identifier are retained while needed to operate ratings, prevent duplicate reviews, maintain trust and moderation records, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Support communications, security logs, and administrative records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or as required by law. Backups and fraud-prevention records may remain for a limited period after deletion.
Data Deletion
You can request deletion of community data associated with your private reviewer identity by contacting support and including the data request code available in the app's Profile screen. We may ask for reasonable verification to prevent deletion of another person's data. We will delete or de-identify eligible information unless retention is reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of these Terms.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process. No internet service, device, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
The app is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information may contact us to request review and deletion.
Your Choices and Policy Changes
You may use the app without location permission, disable saved search areas, remove saved places, block contributors, clear ordinary local data, or request deletion of eligible community data. We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and, when required, additional notice or consent.
